Junior Accountant

About the role

Mateo Food & Beverage is expanding its flagship Asian BBQ concept to Yangon, Myanmar. We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to support the finance team in daily accounting operations and help ensure accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily accounting transactions and maintain proper accounting records.
• Prepare and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
• Assist with bank, cash, and ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, invoices, and other accounting documents.
• Support monthly closing and preparation of financial reports.
• Assist in tax calculations and filing documentation.
• Maintain proper filing of accounting and supporting documents.
• Provide audit support and prepare required schedules.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and payables.
• Perform other finance‑related duties as assigned by senior staff.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• LCCI Level II/III or ACCA Part I preferred.
• 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred; fresh graduates with strong knowledge are welcome.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and basic financial reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop within the finance team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with accounting software such as SQL, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar systems.
