IT Operations Lead

About the role

Technology is the backbone of Proximity’s operations across Myanmar. As the IT Operations Lead you will own the day‑to‑day management of the network, servers and cloud platforms for the Head Office and field offices, while shaping IT policies, vendor relationships and long‑term system improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain core network infrastructure, including Palo Alto firewalls, Engenius switches, MikroTik routers and wireless access points.
• Manage on‑premise servers and virtual machines, ensuring high availability, performance and reliable backups.
• Oversee cloud platforms such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and AWS, handling user access, configuration and cost monitoring.
• Implement end‑to‑end IT security: firewall policies, VPN, endpoint controls, patch management and incident response.
• Control the full IT asset lifecycle from procurement to retirement, including inventory tracking.
• Coordinate with hardware, software and connectivity vendors to secure service quality and cost‑effectiveness.
• Work with business teams on hardware/network requirements, budgeting and stakeholder expectations.
• Lead the IT Operations team, collaborate with the Helpdesk Lead on escalations and support digital initiative deployments.
• Develop and enforce IT policies and cybersecurity best practices across the organization.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration or network engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Proven ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and make pragmatic decisions under pressure.
• Strong people skills and experience working with teams at all organisational levels.
