Internal Auditor

About the role

We are seeking an Internal Auditor to evaluate branch and head‑office operations, ensuring compliance with MAHA policies, local regulations and international standards. The role supports organisational effectiveness by identifying control weaknesses and recommending improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct audits of branches and head office to assess internal controls, financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Prepare clear, professional audit reports in English, including recommendations.
• Review management responses to audit findings and ensure appropriate corrective actions.
• Assist in developing the annual audit plan aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Perform compliance reviews covering taxation, employment law and other statutory obligations.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate audit activities and address cross‑functional issues.
• Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations and audit standards.
• Participate in internal and external quality assurance assessments.
• Adhere to MAHA’s Code of Conduct and perform additional duties as directed by the Head of Internal Audit.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field (e.g., B.Com, CPA, LCCI Level III).
• Understanding of local Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Ability to work independently, remain unbiased and provide honest reporting.
• Willingness to travel to branch locations and field sites as required.
• Experience in micro‑finance, banking or agricultural finance is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Familiarity with local Accounting Standards.
• Understanding of professional audit standards.
