Internal Audit Manager – Banking Sector

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Audit Manager to lead audit engagements across our banking operations. You will work closely with senior management and the Board Audit Committee to provide assurance on risk, control, and governance matters.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute internal audit engagements from start to finish.
• Develop and review audit programs, walkthroughs, flowcharts, and process narratives.
• Conduct risk‑based audit oversight to identify key risk areas.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, policies, procedures, and business processes.
• Identify control gaps and process inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports with clear findings and actionable recommendations.
• Monitor corrective actions and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Coach, mentor, and guide audit team members.
• Communicate audit results to senior management and the Board Audit Committee.
• Stay updated on banking regulations, industry best practices, and emerging risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional qualification preferred (ACCA, CPA, CIA, IFRS or equivalent).
• 6‑8 years of auditing experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role within a banking or financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of banking operations and financial services.
• In‑depth understanding of accounting standards, internal controls, auditing standards, and risk management.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Willingness to travel as required and good command of English.
