Head of Programmes – Myanmar

About the role

People in Need is seeking a senior leader to head its Myanmar programme. The Head of Programmes will oversee all projects, ensure high‑quality implementation, and guide strategic development in line with donor and organisational priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, management and implementation of the Country Strategic Plan, work plan and programme reviews.
• Supervise programme staff, including Programme/Area Managers and Project Managers, ensuring compliance with PIN policies and donor requirements.
• Develop and manage fundraising strategies, donor proposals and reporting.
• Oversee M&E systems, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures across all projects.
• Represent PIN to donors, partners and coordination forums, promoting the organisation’s expertise and localisation approach.

Required profile

• Higher‑education degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in a relevant field.
• Proven senior management experience in humanitarian programming, including project cycle management and team leadership.
• Strong understanding of quality standards, safeguarding and accountability mechanisms.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills, with ability to work under pressure.

• Salary range €3,250‑€3,500 super‑gross per month (based on experience).
• Monthly subsistence allowance of €1,395 and accommodation provided.
