Geophysicist – Mining

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Geophysicist to lead geophysical surveys for mining projects. The role involves planning, executing, and interpreting a range of geophysical methods to support exploration of oil, gas, minerals, groundwater, or geothermal resources.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct seismic, magnetic, gravity, electrical, and electromagnetic surveys, including UAV‑borne magnetic surveys.
• Collect, process, and interpret geophysical data to model subsurface structures.
• Prepare detailed maps, 3‑D models, and technical reports for clients and management.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and environmental scientists throughout project phases.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate geophysical equipment and software.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and keep accurate technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences, Physics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in geophysical exploration, research or consulting.
• Willingness to travel frequently for field work.
• Knowledge of HSE practices and regulations.

Required skills

• UAV airborne magnetic survey techniques.
• Frequency‑domain and time‑domain electromagnetic methods.
• Seismic, gravity, magnetic and electrical survey techniques.
• Proficiency with geophysical interpretation and modelling software.
• Remote sensing and geospatial analysis.
• Statistical and numerical data analysis.
