Electrical Engineer – LED Display Installation

About the role

The Electrical Engineer will plan and supervise electrical work for LED displays and related media installations, covering design, site surveys, safe installation, testing, maintenance and technical handover. The role combines hands‑on site supervision with detailed electrical design and performance simulation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct electrical surveys, confirm power availability, assess loads, design distribution panels, cable routes, grounding and surge protection.
• Inspect LED cabinets, power supplies, receiving cards, controllers, cables and mounting accessories before installation.
• Verify structural alignment, steel frames and supports against approved drawings and obtain qualified strength reviews.
• Inspect hanging points, load ratings and lifting hardware, coordinating with structural and lifting teams.
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors, ensuring installation sequence, workmanship and compliance with drawings.
• Design LED driver software and light‑engine systems, working with vendors on integration and testing.
• Perform site safety inspections, approve lifting plans and enforce use of personal protective equipment.
• Develop prototype models, simulate optical, thermal and electrical performance, and review results with vendors.
• Commission displays, test electrical protection, controller configuration and content playback, and produce handover documentation.
• Plan maintenance, troubleshoot faults, coordinate repairs and support safe dismantling or relocation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering; professional registration or certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in outdoor media, LED signage or commercial installations.
• Proven experience supervising contractors, lifting activities and structural mounting work.
• Strong knowledge of LED modules, switching power supplies, NovaStar or Colorlight controllers and related cabling.
• Proficiency in single‑phase and three‑phase distribution, circuit breakers, grounding, cable sizing and surge protection.
• Excellent project management, problem‑solving and communication skills, with ability to work outside regular hours when needed.
