Education Technical Assistant – Myanmar (Maungdaw)

About the role

The Education Technical Assistant will support NRC’s education activities in Maungdaw, Rakhine State, Myanmar. The role involves coordinating with volunteer teachers, community committees, and ensuring compliance with project standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and report on project activities, ensuring compliance with NRC standards.
• Administer payments and entitlements for volunteer teachers and school children.
• Work with community education committees on planning, enrolment, and distribution of school materials.
• Support volunteer teachers, suggest improvements, and report protection concerns.
• Collect data, prepare field reports and maintain project documentation.
• Mobilise communities, conduct education campaigns and facilitate trainings.
• Assist in budgeting, accounting and administrative tasks for education activities.
• Facilitate formation and strengthening of PTAs and School Improvement Committees.

Required profile

• At least 2 years experience working on education projects in a humanitarian or recovery context.
• BA degree or equivalent preferred.
• Good administrative, accounting and reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision.
• Flexibility to live and work in difficult circumstances.
