Education Officer – Maungdaw, Rakhine State

About the role

The Education Officer will coordinate education activities in Maung Daw, Rakhine State, ensuring alignment with NRC strategies, donor requirements and community needs. The role involves supervising staff, managing learning materials and reporting on progress.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate education activities according to NRC strategy, proposals, budgets and plans, and ensure compliance with policies and donor requirements.
• Supervise, train and develop education technical assistants and community‑based workers, including regular classroom observations and teacher follow‑up.
• Manage procurement, development and distribution of teaching and learning materials, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to procedures.
• Build and maintain effective collaboration with education committees, community groups, youth‑led organisations and implementing partners.
• Prepare periodic progress reports, statistics and other documentation in line with donor and NRC guidelines.
• Ensure proper monitoring, evaluation and archiving of all educational activities according to NRC standards.

Required profile

• At least 3 years experience working in Education in Emergencies or education programming in conflict‑affected or crisis contexts.
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
• Fluency in local languages and English, both written and verbal.
• Proven ability to use digital tools for communication, monitoring, data collection and programme reporting.
• Experience managing budgets and supervising staff.
• Flexible, creative and cooperative attitude with strong communication skills.
