Data Center Facilities Engineer

About the role

The Data Center Facilities Engineer is responsible for planning, maintaining and upgrading the critical infrastructure of data center environments, ensuring continuous, safe operation of power and environmental systems.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct electrical and mechanical trades for preventive maintenance, corrective repairs and new construction.
• Perform weekly and monthly inspections of critical infrastructure supporting data center operations.
• Coordinate with ICT teams to support power supply, cabling, and environmental requirements during IT hardware installations.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental protocols for all on‑site activities.
• Design and implement upgrades to server rooms, including ELV, fire suppression, access control, HVAC, UPS and ATS systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Supervise external vendors and contractors to maintain compliance with data center rules and safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, IT or related engineering discipline.
• Direct experience in data center engineering operations, including construction, commissioning, testing and MEP systems.
• Strong analytical, planning and problem‑solving abilities, able to work independently or within a 24/7 team.
• Good communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.
• Protective relays and PLC switchgear.
• Emergency diesel generators.
• HVAC, fire suppression, access control, and ATS systems.
• Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools such as Vertiv RDU and Huawei Net‑Eco.
• Basic knowledge of IT procurement and equipment inventory management.
