Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead all accounting and financial reporting activities for Cover City Trading Co., Ltd. based in Yangon. This full-time, on-site position oversees the accounting team, ensures accurate financial statements, and supports the company’s growth through sound financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the accounting team and manage general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and cash‑flow reports in compliance with local tax regulations.
• Develop and implement internal controls, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide financial analysis for management decision‑making.
• Coordinate with external auditors, improve accounting processes, and maintain up‑to‑date tax records.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and Myanmar tax regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or ACCA preferred.
• Proven experience in general ledger management, AP/AR, and bank reconciliation within a trading or commercial environment.
• Ability to lead, mentor and develop an accounting team.
• High integrity, attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (advantage).
