Chief Accountant

About the role

The company, operating in the trading sector, seeks a Chief Accountant to lead its finance function. This senior role will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Review, authorize, and finalize primary financial statements including General Ledger, Trial Balance, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, ensuring accurate daily transaction recording.
• Lead corporate tax planning, compliance, and act as the main liaison for external auditors and tax consultants.
• Establish and enforce internal financial controls, inventory audit systems, and payable/receivable policies.
• Drive annual budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting, variance analysis, and advise executives and board members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, ACCA or similar certification preferred.
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and proficiency with accounting software.
