Chief Accountant – Distribution (FMCG)

About the role

The company, a leading FMCG distributor, is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead its accounting function. This senior position will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective cash management across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and maintain precise financial records.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage bank reconciliations, cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
• Ensure compliance with corporate, commercial, withholding tax and other statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities, and relevant government agencies.
• Lead, supervise, and review the work of the accounting team, including inventory control and costing.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, B.Com, or a related field.
• CPA, ACCA or similar certification (completed or in progress) is an advantage.
• 5–7 years of accounting experience, with proven experience managing accounting operations and leading a finance team.
• Strong knowledge of Myanmar taxation, inventory costing, financial analysis, and team leadership.
