Category Specialist – Business Services Procurement

About the role

The Category Specialist will develop and execute sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost optimisation for Business Services spend within a fast‑moving FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category sourcing strategies for Business Services spend areas.
• Lead RFQ, RFP and tender activities, negotiate contracts and deliver annual savings, cost avoidance and value‑creation targets.
• Manage strategic and operational supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews and drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with HR, Finance, IT, Legal and other functions to translate business requirements into sourcing strategies and act as a trusted procurement advisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Economics or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of procurement, supply chain, finance or commercial experience in FMCG, preferably brewery or beverage manufacturing.
• Proven experience managing sourcing projects, supplier negotiations and contract management.
• Exposure to multi‑functional and international environments, with knowledge of utilities procurement and logistics contracts.

Required skills

• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP and procurement tools.
• Knowledge of utilities procurement (electricity, fuel, water) and logistics contracts.
• Understanding of global procurement frameworks, policies and contract compliance.
• CIPS certification or working towards it.
