Cashier Supervisor

About the role

The Cashier Supervisor oversees daily cash handling operations, ensuring accurate transactions and smooth customer service at the cash counter. This role coordinates with finance, IT, and other departments to maintain cash flow integrity and resolve issues promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Assign daily duties to cash desk staff and manage denomination processes.
• Monitor and address cash shortages or overages.
• Control queue flow and cash counter operations.
• Communicate with the finance department to support cash flow processes.
• Oversee shift-end procedures and cash collection activities.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints efficiently.
• Ensure proper category awareness and bagging control.
• Coach and develop team members.
• Coordinate with software and IT teams to improve customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• 3 to 4 years of experience in a similar cash handling or supervisory role.
• High level of honesty and integrity.
• Strong awareness of cash flow management and fraud prevention.
• Ability to distinguish genuine from counterfeit currency.
