Auditor – Retail & Warehouse Operations

About the role

To conduct independent and systematic audits of retail stores, warehouse operations, inventory, cash management, sales transactions, procurement, expenses, and business processes to ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, financial procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. The auditor will perform both regular and surprise audits across multiple locations to identify discrepancies and improve controls.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular and surprise audits of retail stores, branches, warehouses, and business operations.
• Review sales transactions, POS records, cash handling, refunds, discounts, and promotional activities.
• Perform physical inventory counts and reconcile stock balances with system records.
• Identify inventory variances, cash discrepancies, revenue leakages, and control weaknesses.
• Review procurement, purchasing, expenses, and supplier transactions for compliance.
• Evaluate effectiveness of internal controls and adherence to policies, SOPs, and regulations.
• Investigate suspected fraud, theft, irregular transactions, and other discrepancies.
• Prepare audit working papers, findings, reports, and recommendations for management.
• Follow up on corrective actions and monitor implementation of audit recommendations.
• Maintain confidentiality, independence, objectivity, and professional integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, retail audit, accounting or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, inventory management, cash management and retail operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, data analysis, POS/ERP systems and audit reporting.
• Strong analytical, investigative, attention‑to‑detail and problem‑solving abilities.
