Assistant Project Manager (Software)

About the role

We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Assistant Project Manager to support our Project Management Office (PMO). The role involves planning, coordinating, monitoring, and delivering software projects in line with established methodologies and governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support Project Managers and the PMO Lead in planning, coordinating, and executing project activities.
• Prepare and maintain project plans, schedules, timelines, and resource tracking documents.
• Coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, and follow up on action items.
• Monitor project progress, track milestones, and provide status updates to stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation such as charters, requirement documents, risk and issue logs, and status reports.
• Identify, track, and escalate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Facilitate communication between business stakeholders, development, QA teams, vendors, and other participants.
• Assist in preparing project reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
• Support Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Information Systems, Project Management or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in project coordination, PMO support, business analysis, or IT/software development projects (fresh graduates are also encouraged).
• Basic understanding of SDLC, Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, organizational and reporting abilities.
• Effective time management with the ability to handle multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
