Assistant Manager – International Business Development

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to support international business development within the agricultural sector. The role focuses on market intelligence, strategic forecasting, and integrated planning to drive growth in new and existing markets.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth market and competitive intelligence, analysing trends, total addressable markets and the impact of PESTEL factors on the agricultural industry.
• Develop and maintain multi‑scenario financial and demand forecast models for new market entry, product expansion and long‑term growth initiatives.
• Prepare data‑driven business cases, including risk analysis and projected ROI, to support corporate planning and executive decision‑making.
• Partner with the Corporate Planning Manager to integrate market insights into long‑range plans, production planning, capacity management and inventory optimisation.
• Design and implement global expansion strategies and country‑specific business plans, collaborating with senior leadership to ensure successful execution.
• Lead market entry initiatives, establishing partnerships, joint ventures or direct operations as required.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (MBA) highly desirable.
• Proven experience in business development or market development, preferably within agriculture.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct complex market analysis and build financial models.
