Assistant Finance Manager

About the role

The Assistant Finance Manager will support the Finance Manager in overseeing daily accounting operations, cash management, and financial reporting. This role ensures accurate financial data, compliance with regulations, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and review daily accounting transactions, cash book, bank reconciliations, general ledger entries and intercompany postings.
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity and ensure sufficient funds for business operations.
• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, advances, reimbursements and other outstanding balances.
• Review payment requests, invoices, receipts and supporting documentation.
• Maintain fixed‑asset records, depreciation schedules and inventory cost control.
• Coordinate month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management.
• Assist in budgeting, financial analysis and variance monitoring.
• Manage tax calculations, provisions, returns, payments and regulatory filings.
• Liaise with external auditors, banks, tax authorities and legal advisors.
• Supervise and support finance team members to ensure accurate accounting operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• ACCA/CPA part‑qualified or LCCI Level 3 (full qualification preferred but not required).
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and taxation.
• Proven team leadership and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as MYOB or QuickBooks.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
