Analyst

About the role

The Analyst will monitor security‑related information from English‑language and Myanmar‑language news outlets and other sources, providing timely and comprehensive incident reports. This position supports the Research & Analysis (R&A) team with ad‑hoc research and data collection.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and gather security‑related data from daily news monitoring.
• Track English and Myanmar news sources to assess the security situation in Myanmar.
• Report incidents promptly according to internal standard operating procedures.
• Provide ad‑hoc desktop research support to the R&A team.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of security issues and geopolitical dynamics in Myanmar.
• Strong understanding of the media sector.
• Structured, neutral, and objective thinking.
• Ability to process and analyse diverse data sets.
• Bachelor’s degree minimum, preferably in political science, international relations, conflict studies or media studies.
• Excellent written and oral English and Myanmar language skills.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Excel and Word.
• Experience with collaborative work tools.
• Familiarity with editing software.
• Basic knowledge of Geographic Information System (GIS) or similar tools (a plus).
