Accountant – Full‑time, Yangon

About the role

U Book Educations Co., Ltd. is seeking a full‑time Accountant to join its finance team in Yangon. The role involves managing daily financial operations, ensuring accurate record‑keeping, and supporting the company’s budgeting and reporting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Record financial transactions and maintain the general ledger.
• Reconcile bank statements, cash accounts and monitor accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare and issue invoices, track receivables, and manage vendor payments.
• Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including journal entries.
• Produce basic financial reports for internal use and external audits.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with Myanmar tax regulations and local accounting standards.
• Collaborate with other departments on finance‑related matters and help improve financial processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger management and financial reporting.
• Understanding of Myanmar tax laws, compliance and audit procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and ability to work collaboratively across functions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (spreadsheets, formulas, reconciliations).
