Access, Safety & Security Coordinator

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a motivated professional to support safety, security and access operations in Myanmar. Working closely with the Senior Coordinator, you will help ensure staff protection, operational continuity and effective incident management across IRC programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Coordinator in reviewing and updating security management plans, operational guidelines and risk assessments for all IRC activities in Myanmar.
• Prepare monthly security incident reports for senior management and maintain daily incident trackers for the Yangon region.
• Coordinate with field safety and security officers, organize security meetings, and produce meeting minutes.
• Support the preparation of official incident and accident reports, ensuring compliance with IRC SOPs.
• Provide recommendations for security equipment usage and facilitate communication among staff.
• Help deliver regular security awareness training and orientation sessions for IRC personnel.

Required profile

• Experience in safety and security management within humanitarian or international development contexts.
• Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and incident reporting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with field teams and senior management.
• Attention to detail and adherence to established SOPs.
