Solar Design Engineer (Senior Level)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Solar Design Engineer to lead the design and engineering of grid‑connected solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The role involves sizing, layout planning, electrical integration and performance analysis for projects up to 230 kV.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete solar PV system designs, including single‑line diagrams and protection schemes.
• Perform cable sizing, equipment selection and layout optimisation for high‑voltage and substation‑adjacent projects.
• Analyse system performance and ensure compliance with grid codes and client specifications.
• Coordinate with project teams to deliver turnkey solar solutions on schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Power Engineering.
• Proven experience in designing and delivering solar power and solar system projects.
• Strong knowledge of the solar industry and grid‑connected plant requirements.
• Experience in substation or high‑voltage system design is an advantage.
