Internal Audit Unit Assistant

About the role

We are looking for an Internal Audit Unit Assistant to support the internal audit department in administrative and audit activities, including field assessments and compliance checks. The role involves visiting client sites, verifying loan documentation, and coordinating audit efforts across units.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with administrative duties assigned by the head of internal audit, unit manager and officer.
• Assess compliance with field operation procedures, credit policies and procedures.
• Visit clients’ houses to observe field operation processes of loan officers and branch management teams.
• Check and verify customer information, supporting documents and loan documents.
• Identify and document business processes and controls to evaluate risks and compensating controls, and regularly review financial statements monthly.
• Coordinate audit efforts with other units of the internal audit department.
• Assist in ensuring audit practices conform to department and professional standards and support internal audit reporting processes.
• Follow up to ensure approved recommendations are implemented.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree holder.
• At least 1 year of experience in auditing, preferably in the micro‑finance field.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to travel to client locations as needed.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
