Head of Programmes (Myanmar)

About the role

People in Need is seeking an experienced Head of Programmes to lead its Myanmar country programme. Reporting to the Country Director, you will ensure high‑quality, impact‑driven implementation of humanitarian and development projects across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the Country Strategic Plan, work plan and programme reviews in line with PIN policies.
• Ensure programme design, management and delivery comply with organisational guidelines and the local risk matrix.
• Lead fundraising strategy, coordinate with the Funding Unit and cultivate donor relationships.
• Guide results‑based monitoring and evaluation systems and use insights to shape future programme strategy.
• Represent PIN to donors, partners and civil‑society organisations, promoting localisation and thematic expertise.
• Support strategic partnership development and strengthen collaboration with local CSO partners.
• Drive continuous quality improvement and foster a supportive environment for programme staff.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience managing multi‑sector humanitarian or development programmes.
• Strong understanding of Myanmar’s humanitarian context and localisation approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, manage budgets and engage high‑level stakeholders.
• Excellent strategic planning, analytical and communication skills.
