Front End Specialist – Launch Team

About the role

Join Ball’s launch team as a Front End Specialist, supporting new build, new line and line conversion start‑up performance in cupper, bodymaker and trimmer areas. You will drive efficiency, spoilage reduction and safety while acting as the on‑site subject‑matter expert for your process area.

Key responsibilities

• Lead equipment start‑up, ramp‑up and early production, ensuring design and performance specifications are met.
• Provide hands‑on technical support, troubleshooting mechanical, chemical and process issues to stabilise production quickly.
• Deliver structured training (≈80% on‑the‑job, 20% classroom) to operators and mechanics on operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and quality.
• Validate SOPs, work instructions and training materials for new equipment and start‑up conditions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Quality to transition lines from start‑up to steady‑state operation.

Required profile

• Mechanical or electrical qualification.
• Train‑the‑Trainer certification or teaching qualification.
• Minimum 5 years experience in aluminium can manufacturing, including line launches or rebuild projects.
• Proven ability to apply problem‑solving techniques and basic Lean concepts.
• Strong English communication skills (at least communicative level).

• Salary range €62,300 – €89,690 gross per year (Germany base, local equivalents apply).
