Programme Officer (Field Coordination)

About the role

The Programme Officer (Field Coordination) will lead the implementation of the Population Mobility and Needs Tracking (PMNT) programme across Myanmar, ensuring effective data collection, field security, and administrative and financial support for field teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee PMNT field implementation, integrating data collection activities and ensuring timely, high‑quality outputs.
• Manage field security, staff movement tracking, and logistical support for extensive field teams in complex operating environments.
• Provide technical and operational guidance on complex field issues and translate programme objectives into operational plans and workplans.
• Monitor and evaluate programme deliverables against targets, ensuring compliance with budget and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Political Science, Humanitarian Operations, Migration Studies) with at least five years of professional experience, or equivalent university degree with seven years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing data initiatives and humanitarian field operations, including security management and coordination of large field teams.
• Fluency in English (oral and written); working knowledge of Burmese or other UN languages is an advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced computer skills: SQL database systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), ArcGIS, Google Earth.
• Proficiency with mobile data collection tools such as KoBoToolbox and Open Data Kit (ODK), and use of GPS hardware.
• Technical expertise in assessments, database management, data analysis, and monitoring & evaluation.
