Data Engineer / BI Consultant – Databricks & Power BI

About the role

EXPLEO is looking for a Data Engineer / BI Consultant to design, build and maintain data pipelines and business intelligence solutions using Databricks and Microsoft Power BI. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure data quality, reliability and actionable insights for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop data pipelines on Databricks, collecting, transforming and integrating data from multiple sources.
• Implement and industrialise ETL/ELT processes, leveraging Apache Spark and PySpark for large‑scale data processing.
• Build and maintain Lakehouse‑based data architectures, including Delta Lake and related optimisations.
• Create data models that support BI reporting needs.
• Develop, optimise and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Microsoft Power BI, using DAX and Power Query.
• Define and track KPIs, optimise query performance and ensure reporting automation.
• Guarantee data quality, consistency and resolve incidents affecting pipelines, datasets or dashboards.
• Participate in testing, validation and production rollout, and produce technical and functional documentation.
• Collaborate with Data, IT and business teams to translate requirements into robust solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in data engineering or BI.
• Proven expertise with Databricks and Power BI.
• Strong SQL skills and experience in data transformation and modelling.
• Ability to analyse business needs and deliver appropriate data/BI solutions.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English.
