Operations Director

About the role

World Vision is seeking an Operations Director to lead and strengthen the operational backbone of its programmes in Myanmar. The role will ensure that all projects adhere to organisational policies, deliver high‑impact results at low cost, and maintain compliance with donor and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and management support for all operations programmes, aligning with the three‑year strategic plan and global frameworks.
• Collaborate with Zonal Managers, Grant Management, and Technical Program Managers to ensure projects follow the WVM operational manual.
• Oversee budgets, special project funding, expenditures and ensure ministry objectives are met.
• Guarantee compliance with LEAP standards, securing human resources, funding, training and coaching as needed.
• Distribute audit reports, address findings promptly, and maintain strong donor relations.
• Coordinate HR, Finance and Technical sectors (Resilience & Livelihood, Education, Health, etc.) to support field projects.
• Monitor project progress through regular site visits and support Zonal/Area Program Managers.
• Integrate sectoral activities, including Advocacy and HEA, into operations per partnership integration strategy.
• Plan and manage relief and rehabilitation programmes according to country needs.
• Report programme issues to the National Director and seek guidance.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in operations management within the humanitarian or non‑profit sector.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, funding streams and ensure compliance with donor standards.
• Experience coordinating across HR, Finance and technical programme areas.
• Strong customer‑service orientation toward donors and partners.
• Familiarity with LEAP standards and best practices in development work.
