National Consultant on Communications and Advocacy

About the role

The National Consultant on Communications and Advocacy will lead the planning and implementation of communication strategies that raise the visibility of UNFPA’s mandate across a broad audience. This role ensures that advocacy initiatives are aligned with global standards and integrated into the country office’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute communication and advocacy plans to promote UNFPA’s strategic outcomes.
• Monitor local trends and adjust messaging to reflect emerging issues and global best practices.
• Coordinate the production of communication materials, ensuring consistency with UNFPA branding and objectives.
• Support the transition and hand‑over process for new Fixed‑Term Appointment staff, including recruitment, onboarding, and probation phases.
• Maintain momentum of ongoing initiatives and provide regular updates to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in communications, advocacy, or public information within an international development context.
• Strong understanding of UNFPA’s mandate and the Sustainable Development Goals.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.
