Monitoring Specialist – Programme Data Strategy (P-4)

About the role

The Monitoring Specialist (Programme Data Strategy) will provide high‑level technical support to strengthen UNICEF Myanmar’s programme monitoring system, especially for large‑scale projects funded by International Financial Institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for monitoring of major IFI‑funded projects and other complex initiatives.
• Ensure a sound, coherent results‑monitoring system, taking into account the complex humanitarian context.
• Guide and support the development of a reliable and sustainable Programme Data and Information Management System.
• Manage office‑wide programme monitoring and third‑party monitoring for large‑scale projects.
• Represent UNICEF Myanmar in technical discussions and coordination with donors, UN agencies and implementing partners.
• Conceptualise, establish or update results‑monitoring frameworks.
• Oversee high‑value third‑party contracts related to monitoring activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Information Management, Development Studies, Social Science, Data Science, Monitoring & Evaluation, Social Research or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible professional experience in monitoring, evaluation, data management or related areas.
